Today is #WorldWaterDay - a day that focuses on the importance of water and the sustainable management of water resources. We also look forward to hosting Rotary SafeWater this afternoon where they will be installing LifeStraw; a water purifier with built-in safe storage that provides safe drinking water, at one of our After-school clubs.
A peaceful Human Rights Day to you all.
World Oral Health Day is commemorated annually on 20 March in order to support the improvement of oral health world wide. The aim is to provide an occasion for global, regional and national activities related to oral health. We celebrate our Owethu Oral Hygienist, Melany Abrahams, for her continued hard word in taking oral health to the children and adults in our communities!
Our children were as excited to meet Gina Del Mistro, as we were- an awesome woman who in her quest to support us, raised a whopping R11000 towards the Sponsor a school pack programme. She travelled all the way from Italy to join this year's Cape Town Cycle Tour 2017 #Pedal4Pebbles team. We hope to see her again in 2018!
This is the road they have to travel to and from school everyday. In winter, it is wet and muddy. We wont let this season’s gloomy weather rain on their parade. Help us reach our goal to put them into winter wellie boots for just R75 - contact Rachel firstname.lastname@example.org to donate a pair.
She is just one of the 1414 children that we are trying to keep warm and dry this winter. Simply contact Rachel email@example.com to donate a pair of Neptun winter wellies to a Pebbles child for just R75.
What we offer our After-school club children....in a (big) nutshell.
Huge thanks to all the CT Cycle Tour riders who turned out today for Pebbles, especially Paul Letheren and Rachel looking dashing in their fab cycle shirts, who flew in from the UK especially. See you next year minus wind. ?
For the past 5 years we have had awesome men and women conquer the largest, timed cycling event in the world; the Cape Town Cycle Tour, in support of Pebbles and this year is no different. Every pedal push, hill, and all the sweat and tears is worth the pain because they are doing it to change the lives of the Pebbles children through our Sports Programme. We wish them nothing but the best at this weekend's race. Thank you once again to our organisers and huge supporters of this team, JF Hillebrand!
Pebbles would like to pay homage to all the women of our nation - the mothers, the wives, the sisters and the daughters that every single day do their best to rise above their circumstances and be the best that they possibly can be. Today, being International Women's Day 2017, we're asking you to #BeBoldForChange. Call on the masses or call on yourself to help forge a better working world- a more inclusive, gender equal world!

Some of the most important barriers to dental care are financial, not supply related- the Owethu Clinic provides free dental care to all our beneficiary children. Now who wouldn't have a smile like that?
Our children love coming to the Owethu Clinic. As part of the Nutrition Programme, children from two farms are here today to ensure they continue to maintain a healthy weight. Can you handle the cuteness? #OurPeople #FromPebblesWithLove
Thank you so much for your continued giving to our beneficiaries Dr Christa Engelbrecht - We cannot achieve half of what we do without so many #PebblesPeople along the way. Our People. Our Passion. Our Pride. #FromPebblesWithLove
Things are looking up or shall we say they are looking yellow in the Hemel-en-Aarde!
