Driver

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch, Wellington, Citrusdal and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The work of Pebbles consists of 5 main pillars: Education, Health, Nutrition, Protection and Environment.

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ a Driver based in Hemel-en-Aarde. This is a part time position (6 hours per day), 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Transport school kids from their homes to schools
• Transport school kids from their schools to Pebbles Project Hemel-en-Aarde facility
• Transport school kids back home in the afternoon
• Drive the pebbles project bus for outings, training, projects and appointments
• Do deliveries and collections as when required
• Perform basic maintenance tasks as required
• Assisting with ad-hoc tasks in and around the office as required

• Valid Code 10 license and PDP or be willing to obtain it
• Own reliable transport
• Ability to work flexible hours, plus weekends and evenings occasionally.

Multi-Grade Home School Tutor

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch, Wellington, Citrusdal and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The work of Pebbles consists of 5 main pillars: Education, Health, Nutrition, Protection and Environment.

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ a Multi-Grade Home School Tutor based in Hemel-en-Aarde.
This is a full day position (08h00-17h00), 5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Tutor learners in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning with the Imaq Programme (focus on all Grades) which includes Numeracy, Literacy, Life Skills etc.
• Keep regular and accurate records of tutoring sessions using the appropriate forms and procedures and assist with report writing.
• To monitor and assess learners’ progress with appropriate planning and preparation, rewarding achievement and ensuring the best possible examination results.

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Education
• 3-5 years’ experience in teaching or tutoring
• Clean driving license and own vehicle
• Fluent written/spoken Afrikaans and English

Personal Assistant To The Director

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch, Wellington, Citrusdal and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. The work of Pebbles consists of 5 main pillars: Education, Health, Nutrition, Protection and Environment.

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ a PA to the Director based in Somerset West. This is a half day position (09h00-14h00), 5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Compiling a weekly task list to be emailed to the Director
• Issuing thank you letter to donors and supporters
• Organising cards, thank you gifts, framed certificates for donors, trustees and staff
• Collections and deliveries of documents, donations and other items within the greater Cape Town area and to/from the Pebbles office, including the post office
• Internet research as required for fundraising, donors, venues etc. and presenting findings
• Agenda preparation, meeting reminders and meeting minute taking. Writing and distribution for monthly staff meetings, quarterly trustee meetings, fundraising meetings, donor meetings and other meetings as required
• Booking venues, organising refreshments for meetings and donor visits as required
• Assisting with proposals and report writing – proof reading and editing of documents and checking of funding proposal budgets
• Assisting with organising PR / marketing materials and events
• Assisting with fundraising and PR events
• Collection of PR materials and preparation of PR packs for media and visitors
• Attending meetings on behalf of Director as required
• Collecting farm and programme information and statistics for funding proposals
• Preparation of monthly expense and travel claim form for the Director
• Compiling documents and PowerPoint presentations as required
• Occasional photography of our projects or donations of goods for donors
• Getting quotes for farm buildings, building repairs, services and vehicles as required
• Managing bookings for Director’s travel, accommodation for overseas trips, national and local travel
• Managing books for trustees travel for board meetings
• Monitoring of Who’s Off online staff management system – notifying Director of all key staff sick/ on leave on a daily basis
• Managing online calendar, sending reminders for meetings, events, birthdays
• Personal duties – managing Director’s calendar with school schedules, term and holiday dates, school event reminders

• Making phone calls to suppliers, donors, supporters, staff
• Preliminary drafting of correspondence for Director, Deputy Director and General Manager
• Preparing Annual Report draft and assisting with the AGM
• Managing and reviewing filing and office system for official documents and meeting minutes
• Sourcing and ordering stationery and office equipment for management
• Managing ad hoc projects

Admin Assistant

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ an Admin Assistant based in Hemel-en-Aarde. This is a half day position, 2.5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Compiling a weekly task list, update daily and email to Project Manager
• Organising cards, thank you gifts, framed certificates for donors, and staff
• Collections and deliveries of documents, donations and other items within the Overberg area to/from the Pebbles Hemel-en-Aarde facility
• Agenda preparation, meeting reminders and meeting minute taking, writing and distribution for monthly staff meetings, and other meetings as required
• Booking venues, organising refreshments for meetings as required
• Assisting with organising PR / marketing materials and events
• Attending meetings on behalf of Project Manager as required
• Assisting with farm visits as needed
• Collecting farm and programme information and statistics for funding proposals
• Financial support – liaison with finance team regarding accounts, paying in of cash donations, withdrawal of petty cash, writing invoices for school fees received and purchase orders
• Bi Weekly collection of hospitality fundraising envelopes
• Compiling documents and PowerPoint presentations as required
• Collection of PR materials and preparation of PR packs for media and visitors
• Assisting with fundraising and PR events (these usually occur in the evenings or on weekends)
• Occasional photography of our projects or donations of goods for donors
• Getting quotes for farm buildings, building repairs, services and vehicles
• Purchases of fresh nutrition items needed as well as other programme items as the need arises.
• Keeping classroom registers up to date
• Keeping learner files up to date
• Transporting staff to monthly training as needed
• Assist with acquiring in kind donations
