PROJECT MANAGER (HEMEL-EN-AARDE VALLEY)

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch and Wellington, Citrusdal and in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.  The work of Pebbles consists of 5 main pillars: education, health, nutrition, protection and community.

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ a Project Manager based in Hemel-en-Aarde (HeA) Valley.  This is a full day position (08h00-17h00), 5 days a week. It is a one-year contract, with the possibility of an extension, dependent on funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Fundraising and liaising with donors
  • Management of projects and programmes at the Bergplaas facility in the HeA Valley
  • Office management
  • Budgeting as well as donor reporting
  • Administration
  • Managing the travel logistics for the Pebbles HeA Education Project
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the HeA Education Programmes

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in a similar role, 3-5 years’ experience essential
  • Teaching experience advantageous but not essential
  • Drivers licence and own reliable vehicle, and willingness to use own vehicle for work purposes (travel reimbursed for Pebbles business)
  • Proven track record as a fundraiser and project manager
  • Excellent organisational, time and self-management skills
  • Excellent writing ability – both English and Afrikaans
  • Good communication skills
  • Detail orientated and accurate
  • Innovative and creative
  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated, energetic self-starter

ECD SUPPORT TEACHER

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch, Wellington, Citrusdal and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.  The work of Pebbles consists of 5 main pillars: education, health, nutrition, protection and environment.

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ an Early Childhood Development (ECD) Support Teacher based in Stellenbosch.   This is a half day position (08h00-13h00), 5 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • “On-site” teaching in 3-5 ECD centres
  • Administration and purchasing
  • Assistance with the Pebbles Project special needs educational programme and toy library
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of the Pebbles Project ECD programme
  • Assistance with the development of the Pebbles Project ECD programme
  • Training of the ECD centre staff

 REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CANNOT TICK EACH REQUIREMENT)

  • Teaching degree or diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Clean driving license and own vehicle
  • Fluent written / spoken English and Afrikaans
  • Excellent computer, administration and organisational skills

The Pebbles Project seeks to employ an Educational Support Teacher based in Citrusdal. This is a full day position (08h00-17h00), 3 days a week, this in future could change to 5 days a week. This is a one-year contract dependent on funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• “On-site” teaching in a collection of ECD and After-School Club centres
• Administration and purchasing
• Assistance with the Pebbles Project special needs educational programme
• Ensuring the effective implementation of the Pebbles Project ECD and After-School Club Programmes
• Assistance with the development of the Pebbles Project ECD and After-School Club Programmes
• Assistance with the assessment and monitoring of the Pebbles Project ECD and ASC Programmes
• Training of the ECD and After-School Club staff

REQUIREMENTS:
• Teaching Degree or Diploma with 3-5 years’ relevant experience
