It is important to us to place volunteers in positions that match their areas of specialisation or skills and with that of the volunteering needs of the organisation. It is therefore important to ensure that you complete the entire application form.
All interested volunteers will need a valid South African Police Clearance Certificate, International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) and/or relevant certified national background check certificate. Police clearance certificates are a legal requirement based on our adherence to the Children’s Act 38 of 2005 (as amended by the Children’s Amendment Act 41 of 2007).
Volunteers who spend 1-3 days at Pebbles Project or are assigned to a task not involving direct contact with children are exempt from obtaining a clearance certificate.
Pebbles Project cannot provide any accommodation and/or transport or any assistance with finding accommodation/transport for volunteers.
Pebbles Project does not offer any paid volunteer opportunities.
All volunteers/Interns are required to use their own vehicle and must have a valid driver’s licence.
Volunteers under the age of 18 years will not be allowed to volunteer in our Afterschool Club facilities. All volunteers under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The accompanying adult must also complete the application form.
